Entrepreneurship & Consultancy in Health care
Objective:
To inspire students to initiate their own ventures, understand the complexities of establishing an enterprise, identify potential opportunities, develop entrepreneurial values, and cultivate a mindset geared towards entrepreneurship. Additionally, to equip students with the skills needed to undertake consultancy work in various aspects of hospital management.
UNIT I: Overview of Entrepreneurship: Overview: Definition and Meaning of Entrepreneurship Characteristics and Function of Entrepreneur Importance and Limitations of Entrepreneurship, Types of Entrepreneurs, Theories of Entrepreneurship
Idea Generation : Brain Storming in terms for Project Ideas, Creativity. Lateral Thinking; Research &Development; Environment Scanning Opportunities in Health care ; Process of Business Opportunity Identification in Healthcare; Environmental Factors affecting success of New Venture, Reasons for the Failure of New Business.
UNIT II: Feasibility Study: Preparation of Feasibility Report, Economic, Technical, Financial and Managerial Feasibility of Project in Healthcare; Selection of Factory Location; Demand Analysis; Market Potential Measurement; Capital Saving and Project Costing; Working Capital Requirements; Profit and Tax Planning.
UNIT III: Sources of Finance: Short Term Sources – Instruments – Long term Sources – Instruments – Sources – Commercial Banks, Development Agencies. Indian and International Funding Organizations Capita Market Venture and Startup Capital, Government support to New Enterprise, Role of Promotional Agencies in Entrepreneurship Development; Entrepreneurship Development Programme: Phases, Relevance and Problems in Entrepreneurship Development Programme
UNIT IV: Overview of Health care Consultancy:
Consulting industry with specific reference to hospital and Health care Consulting Perspective. Professionalism & Ethics in Consulting Consultant – Client Relationship, Behavioral roles of consultants.
